The Napa Valley Dance-A-Thon is an annual fundraising event hosted by NV Dance Company and the Vintage High School Dance Department. It is a student choreography showcase that will take place on February 4, 2024 at the Napa Valley College Performing Arts Center. All NVDC students Level 1 and above will participate in this event, with the exception of our Acro classes. Acro classes will continue to work on skills and conditioning for the June recital.
If you have a local business and would like to be featured at the event, please email NVDanceCo@gmail.com to discuss business sponsorship rates (tiers listed below) or basket donations. We are also seeking items for a silent auction and raffle. There will be prizes for the top students who receive the most pledges. All money raised will go to both NV Dance Company (non-profit (501c3)) and Vintage High School Dance Department. Collection of Pledges will start in December 2023. Tickets for the event will be sold separately. This is a HUGE fundraiser for the NVDC, as it supports our ability to continue to offer scholarships to kids in our community. With the money raised two years ago, we were able to put in a brand new dance floor for our students and offer more scholarships than we ever have before. The money raised last year and the money raised this year is being put away for a build out on a new facility when our lease term is up at our current location.
Each dancer will be provided with a Dance-A-Thon t-shirt and will wear black leggings for their regular class group routines, with the exception of Ballet. Ballet classes will wear their normal required class wear: Black leotard, pink tights and pink Ballet shoes. T-shirts are provided by NVDC, (We will not be ordering costumes for this event).
Dance A Thon and Pledgestar:
For our Dance-A-Thon this year, we’re using an awesome web based fundraising system called Pledgestar, which makes it much easier for you to request pledges from your family and friends, and for them to make secure credit card donations online. It’s fun, it’s easy, and people who use it typically raise twice as much as those who don’t!
Here is how you register them:
Using your computer’s browser:
- Go to http://pledgestar.com/NVDance
- Click “Not Registered For This Year’s Event”
- Enter your name and email address, then click “Submit”
- Follow the instructions on-screen to register Dancer(s) and add family and friends
Using your Android or Apple phone or tablet:
- Go to the Apple App Store on IOS or the Amazon App Store on Android and search for “PledgeStar” to download the Family App, or go to https://pledgestar.com/NVDance/downloadapp.html
- On the home screen enter your event code: “NVDance” to locate your event
- Click “Not Registered For This Year’s Event”
- Enter your name and email address, then click “Submit”
- Follow the instructions on-screen to register Dancer(s) and add family and friends
When you finish, the system emails pledge requests to your family and friends, and allows them to make secure credit card donations online. You get notified each time a pledge is made, and you can track your pledge progress online.
